Prayer Request for The Knippers Family

This prayer request is for Allen & Paula Knippers, former members of our lifegroup. Paula is pregnant with twins and I believe her due date is the first week of December. She learned at her doctor's appt this week that her body was already showing signs of labor. She has been admitted to the hospital and will have to stay there until the baby boys are delivered. They are doing everything to make sure she carries the twins until at least 32 weeks if not longer.

Allen & Paula also have a daughter, Kyleigh, who is two years old and I know they are worried about how she will handle mommy not being at home during this time. Please say a special prayer for her as well.

Thanks so much for your prayers for these friends of our lifegroup. I'll keep you all updated as I receive updates.

They live in Los Angeles and Moriah has been in the hospital continuously for the last 11 months. She was born with a massive heart defect, but a doctor at Stanford performed radical surgery and fixed her heart 100%. Praise God! Then, she got terrible respiratory problems and has had to be intubated too many times to count. She was born with C.H.A.R.G.E syndrome. They found out this week that she has no hearing in her left ear and very little in her right ear. This may cause her to never walk. She was supposed to go home on Sept 9th for the first time in nearly a year (with at-home care), but now she has pnuemonia and won't be leaving the hospital. Her parents are only 25 years old and this is their first child. They are awesome believers and their faith and trust in God through all of this has been amazing to watch. Please pray for healing for Moriah.

4. Please pray for Saige to get better soon. She has a stomach virus. And please pray that no one else in their house gets it.

5. Please pray for Dustin at work.

6. Please pray for Jenna's dad. He retired two months ago and feels "lost" without going to work each day and needs things to keep him busy and healthy.
7. Pray for Paul's co-worker's 21 year old daughter who had a major accident a couple weeks ago and is still in a coma. It is the Kallmeyer family.
8. Jennifer Huff's car was broken into so pray they find the funds to get the damages fixed.
9. Pray that the Huff's credit while they are in the market of buying a new home.
10. Jennifer will be traveling alone with their son this coming weekend so pray for safety.
Enjoy the rest of the Labor Day weekend!!

School Supplies Drive a Success!

Thank you to everyone who donated school supplies as part of the CBS Lifegroup 2nd Annual School Supplies Drive for Local Sudanese Students.
We partnered with AIDSUDAN to donate school supplies to 25-30 children that attend a Sudanese church in Belaire. David and Danyel Humphrey, of Aid Sudan and members of HAFBC, picked up our supplies and delivered them to the kids on Sunday, August 23rd. Here are some pics of the excited students picking out their school supplies. David and Danyel said the drive was a success and that the children were very happy and some even made thank you cards for our class! Danyel will be in class this Sunday to share with us about the delivery of the supplies. I am so proud of our lifegroup for making a difference in the lives of these young boys and girls. We'll all have a chance to meet the Sudanese children and their parents when we visit the Sudanese church this fall!

2. '09 Mexico Mission Trip, July 12 - 17: For the past 5 years we have partnered with FBC, Nuevo Guerrero, Mexico in mission projects. As a Mexican border town they have blessed us and we have blessed them, all in the name of Jesus. After careful consideration of the recent violence along certain areas of the Mexican border and talking with Pastor Pedro Tobias we believe serving Nuevo Guerrero is still viable and needed. Our on-going mission partnership has allowed many in our church the affordable opportunity to experience God at work in life-changing ways. This year the trip will be limited to students or adults 18 and older, unless children are accompanied by a parent. The cost of the trip is $150 per person for those staying at Falcon Heights church or $250 per person staying at Falcon Heights Hotel. The deadline for registration is June 7th. Please contact Shirley Sims in the mission office at 281-446-8168 orssims@hafbc.com.
