February 27th Announcements

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.  TONIGHT is GNO!  All the ladies will be gathering at Laura's house for a night of snacks and games at 7 p.m.  RSVP to adamandlaurasanders@gmail.com

2.  THIS FRIDAY, 3/4, is our lifegroup March social!  Laura will be sending out all the details this week.  If you plan to attend and you need a free babysitter at the church then you MUST sign up for childcare today.  You can call the church and ask for Becky Sandoval.  281-446-8168.

3.  Sunday, March 13th, our church will have a worship minister here in view of a call.  He will lead worship in both services and then the membership will vote immediately after each service.  Please be praying for this man, his wife and kids, and our church to have godly discernment.

4.  Saturday, March 19th, is a MAN-Date.  The guys are all invited to play in a dog-fight golf tournament at Kingwood Country Club with Dustin.  The cost is $20 each.  The tournament begins at 2:30 p.m.  Email Dustin if you want to play at dchilders@newtecheng.com.

5.  There are TWO opportunities to nourish and renew your marriage at HAFBC this spring.  We hope you will attend one or both!

• March 2 - April 13, The Art Of Marriage video series will be offered each Wed night from 6:30-8 p.m. in room 2204.  It will be led by Brandon and Natalie Reed.  You can sign up in class each week or just show up this Wednesday night for their first video session.
• March 25 - Mini Marriage Retreat led by Chris & Lydia Lewis from 7-10 p.m.  Cost is $20 per couple.  Register at www.hafbc.com

6.  The HAFBC Adoption Ministry is hosting a free seminar on March 4th at 7 p.m.  You can reach the church for more details at 281-446-8168.

7.  We had shepherd groups in our life group in the past and they proved to be very helpful in accomplishing the purpose of discipleship within our group and we feel the Lord telling us to bring them back.  We are asking you to pray about volunteering to be Shepherd Group Leaders (made up of a husband and wife team) in our life group.  Dustin will be sending out an email shortly which details the responsibility and purpose of a shepherd group/leader.  Any questions can be sent to Dustin at dchilders@newtecheng.com

PRAYER REQUESTS:

1.  Sam may be in California for another 4-6 weeks.  Please keep praying for him and his family.

2.  Praise!  Jenna's dad did not have any infection from his colon in his abdomen.  He will be having surgery in the next few months once the inflammation has subsided.

3.  Matt's mom is having her gallbladder removed soon.

4.  Laura's students are taking the TAKS test this week and they need prayers to focus and use the tools that have been taught to them.  Also, please pray for all of the teachers.

5.  Laura's sister is due on March 1st with her second child and is ready for delivery.

6.  Please keep praying for Nicole's mother and Nicole's entire family.

February 20th Announcements

ANNOUNCEMENTS:


1.  Every Wednesday the men meet in room 2209 at 6:30 p.m. and discuss their new bible study, Crazy Love by Francis Chan.  Come and join them!

PRAYER REQUESTS: 1.  Nicole A. requested prayer for her friend who had a heart cath scheduled last week.  It has been postponed and rescheduled for this week. 2.  Elise S. requested prayer for the youth and the youth department at HAFBC.  She recently worked DNow for the youth as a sponsor and saw many needs for the kids and ministry. 3.  Michael C. has a meeting this week with his boss about his future at the company and it could mean the chance for Stacy to stay at home full-time. 4.  Paul S. requested prayer for his co-worker, John.  Doctors found and removed a brain cancer from John last week.  Now they are waiting on the biopsy results. 5.  Jenna C. requested prayer for her father.  He went to the ER on Sunday w/ abdominal pain and was admitted and has been there all week w/ colon issues.

February 13th Announcements

ANNOUNCEMENTS

1.  This Wednesday, Feb 16th is Mom2Mom at 9:30 a.m. in the worship center.  Lydia Lewis will be speaking on how to love your husband and being romantic.

2.  This Wednesday, Feb 16th Stories with Starbucks at 6:45 p.m. in room 2208.  Join Pastor Barry and his wife Gay as they discuss Right Time for End Times?


3.  This Wednesday, Feb 16th at 6:45 p.m., The men will be meeting upstairs at HAFBC for the first time to discuss their new study, Crazy Love by Francis Chan.  You can purchase a book in the church library or at a Christian bookstore around town.

4.  Tuesday, Feb 15th, women's bible studies will meet in the morning and evening at HAFBC.

February 6th Announcements

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.  This Friday night is our class social at Carrabbas in Kingwood at 7 p.m.  The church is offering free childcare from 6:45 - 10 p.m.  RSVP to adamandlaurasanders@gmail.com

2.  Men's Bible Study will start back up NEXT WED (Feb 16th) at 6:30 p.m.  The book being discussed is Crazy Love and it can be bought at the church bookstore throughout the week or any Christian bookstore, online, etc.  Meet upstairs.  The room will be announced.

3.  This Sunday, Feb 13th, is a very important leadership meeting for ALL of our class leaders.  It will be in the worship center at 4 p.m.  Childcare will be available if needed.

4.  This Sunday, Feb 13th, the women will be getting together to celebrate at Stefanie C's baby shower!  RSVP to sabrina.m.stark@sbcglobal.net.

3.  Laura reported that her 11 mo old nephew is feeling much better.  Now, please keep her sister in your prayers as she is due to have a new baby in 3 weeks.

January 30th Announcements

ANNOUNCEMENTS 1.  Men's Momentum is this Wednesday, February 2nd @ 6:30 in the Student Building. Personal testimony will be Gery Prochaska and Mitch Beckman will be teaching/preaching. Men, join us for a great time of fellowship and Bible study. 2.  Stories with Starbucks, this Wednesday @ 6:45 in room 2208. Ladies night only. Judy Cox, Executive Director of Family Time Crisis & Counseling Center will be sharing stories regarding women and children in crisis and how there is help for the hurting. 3. Humble to Humble, Saturday, February 5. Please be making plans now for your next H2H mission adventure. We will meet at the church at 8:30 a.m., have breakfast and then go to your mission project. Childcare is provided. 4. February LIFEGROUP SOCIAL, Friday, February 11 @ 7 p.m. Dinner at Carrabbas (Kingwood Drive location).  Childcare is available at the church beginning at 6:45 p.m. until 10 p.m., but you must sign up for childcare by this Sunday.  We'll have a sign-up sheet in class.  Also you need to RSVP to Laura at adamandlaurasanders@gmail.com 5. Adult LifeGroup Leaders Meeting, Sunday, February 13 @ 4 in the worship center. Please be present for this very important meeting. We will be discussing where we believe God is leading us in intentionally making disciples. PRAYER REQUESTS: 1.  Elise A. began her new teaching job this week!  Praise!  Please pray for her as she starts this new job. 2.  Michael & Stacy C. asked prayer for their daughter, Cadence, who is having tubes put in and her adenoids taken out this week. 3.  Nicole A. asked prayer her mother whose radiation treatments will be done on Wednesday and then she will have an MRI on Friday to see if the treatment was successful. 4.  Dustin C. requested prayer for his parents as they travel internationally. 5.  Dustin C. requested prayer for his brother. 6.  Laura S. requested prayer for her sister who is 9 months pregnant and her son (11 mo old) who is very ill with pneumonia.
