November 14th Announcements

ANNOUNCEMENTS

1.  Our life group is  "filling a basket" for the Naun family, on behalf of the Kids Hope USA, a mentoring program from Humble Elementary. I had a sign up sheet go around today for specific items such as: 1 box of microwave popcorn, 2-3 boxes of "movie" candy, a 6-pack of soda, Christmas ornaments, and $10-$40 towards a gift certificate for a turkey/ham. The church will provide the movie: "Facing the Giants." Our class provided a great contribution toward the basket.  If you weren't there and want to give something then please bring a Christmas ornament, or "movie" candy, or popcorn. This is due: December 5th.

2.  "Stories at Starbucks" each Wednesday from 6:45-7:45 p.m.  It is designed to provide a place for adults who don't have a place to go during all of our student and children activities. Next Wednesday's topic (11/10):  "Orphan Offering" with David & Sheri Walling:  Orphans offer families amazing blessings.  Stories will reveal how two special families are overwhelmed with God's presence through their children.

3.  52 Houses of Prayer in 2011. Please ask your LifeGroup members if they would be willing to be a host home for 52 Houses of Prayer.  There are sign-up cards in your LifeGroup folder.

4.  Angel Sunday is November 14.  It will be your only opportunity to select Angels from the trees in the lobby to help provide presents for children of incarcerated parents as well as families we serve through our Food Pantry.  The Christmas Angel Party is Saturday, December 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

5. Food Pantry Ministry Need: Earnest Juarez, a faithful member of our church who works in our food pantry, is attempting to help a single mom who has 8 children and has no furniture. If you can help with any of the following items, please contact Larry Dangerfield at ldangerfield@hafbc.com.
Queen bed, bunk bed, electric stove, refrigerator, table for 6 and living room furniture.

PRAYER REQUESTS

1.  Kristen Jones: for her brother, who is in the process of being transferred detention facilities from Indianapolis to Tarrant County (Fort Worth). The paperwork in Indianapolis is complete, he is just waiting for Tarrant County, paperwork is tougher. This is a great opportunity for him, as he is often getting into trouble where he currently is at, and he will be closer to family. Please pray the process to go smoothly, so this can happen for him.

2.  The Jones' on behalf of the Childers'-- for their friend Dan, continued prayers for his physical health and spiritual health; prayers that the Lord would allow him to become physically healthy so he can hear the word of God.

3.  The Childers'-- prayers for Davin, for his low grade fever, and that he would return to normal health quickly.

4.  Matt Greenfield-- has an opportunity to switch jobs. He will talk to a man who is an owner of a company from LA on Tuesday. Prayers for guidance and peace as Matt may face a decision to switch jobs in the near future.

5.  Elise-- has a job fair on Tuesday. Prayers that God would direct her to the right people to talk to, as she is unsure who/what she is interested in speaking to at this point in time.

6.  Drew: Drew's brother is searching for employment; this is his last semester in undergrad (he is a business major) -- he is very discouraged, prayers for peace, guidance, and for the Lord to provide the perfect job in HIS timing.

7.  Prayers for families that are traveling, that have sick family members, and for day-to-day activities; that we don't consume our life with "business" that we carve out specific time to spend in the word. The bible develops us into persons of inspirational influence (2 Timothy 3:14); the more we're in the word, the more others see Christ living in our life; therefore, the more we are able to reach and touch them.

8.  Matt Corso: he will be taking the Captain's test (a promotional test) on Wednesday
