Hello CBS Lifegroup! We had another good class yesterday as we discussed Acts 14:21-28. Thanks to Paul for preparing the lesson and to all who took part. Here are the announcements and prayer requests from yesterday. Let us know if you have anything to add by sending an email to
jnhc99@yahoo.com1. May 23 - Global Day Of Prayer, special service hosted at HAFBC for the community. Please attend and represent our church.
2. May 24 - GNO! We're making handmade greeting cards ladies, so bring any supplies you have and a dessert to share.
3. June 5 - 52 Houses of Prayer, HAFBC's new prayer effort, begins at the home of one church member. The entire church is invited to their house to take part in prayer led by a church deacon and pastor. All are invited, babies to mature adults.
4. June 6 - How To Develop A Powerful Prayer Life, by Greg Frizzell, will be a conference hosted at HAFBC.
5. June 12 - A Day At The Lake lifegroup social at Lake Livingston State Park has been rescheduled b/c it was cancelled this past weekend due to the weather.
6. Men's Bible Study meets weekly, the next two weeks they will be meeting on Tues night.
7. Dave Warner is collecting donations of men's clothing for Houston's First Baptist Church. (after he gets out of the hospital...see prayer request below.)
8. FELLOWSHIP GROUPS, woohoo! We're organizing fellowship groups (like a supper club) within our lifegroup and they will meet for dinner in June & July. You have to sign up in class if you want to join a group.
PRAYER REQUESTS:1. Praise! Bryan and Drew both made the choice to follow in scriptural baptism and were baptized in the second service yesterday. It was awesome to stand as their friends and celebrate their decisions.
2. Mark & Kim will be traveling to OK soon.
3. Dustin and Jenna know a young single mother that may have cervical cancer. The diagnosis is unclear after talking w/ family yesterday.
4. Dustin's brother is working contract work in Afghanistan.
5. Paul & Sabrina will be traveling to OK soon.
6. Dave's leg is infected and he is being admitted to the hospital.
7. Matt G's grandmother, Annie, age 86, has many health issues including cancer and his grandfather (on the other side of the family) is in the hospital.
8. Stefanie C's dad is going through a lot of life changes and dealing with PTSD from his time in Iraq, but is seeking treatment.
9. Always be praying for our church and the pastor search committee as we continue to look for a head pastor of HAFBC.
