January 25 Announcements

Hey everyone! I hope your week has started off great. It was great to see everyone yesterday at church.

Announcements:
  • Mom2Mom is Wednesday, February 11 from 9:30-11:30 in the main building room 1300
  • Men's Conference with Steve Farrar is January 30 and 31 (Friday and Saturday) from 6:30-10 pm in the Worship Center
  • Girl's night is THIS Wednesday. 7 pm at Laurie Williams. If you did not receive an evite please contact Sabrina Stark at sabrina.m.stark@sbcglobal.net
  • Super Bowl party is this coming Sunday, February 1 at the Stark's home. Contact Paul stark for more info or an evite at paul.d.stark@sbcglobal.net

Prayer Requests

  • Noel and Christina Bowman will be traveling to Washington this coming weekend with Amelia. Please pray for them to have a safe trip.
  • Bonnie Brown's whole family is sick other than Robert so pray for healing.
  • Josh Eldridge's friend, Jenny, has cervical cancer and needs lots of prayer
  • Katherine Rushing's grandma has alzhiemer's and is in rehab. Pray for her family through this situation.
  • Dave Warner lost his job this week and needs guidance in finding a new one.
  • Please pray for Derek and Crystal Boomer as they are relying on God through some trying times.
  • Nicole Brian needs guidance on what to do with her health. Pray that God will give her wisdom on what actions to take and just her overall health.

I encourage everyone to take some time out of their busy schedule to stop and actually pray for each of these requests. It is so easy to read over them once then go on with your week and forget all about them. I hope everyone has an amazing week and you'll be back in class next Sunday!

January 18th Announcements

Hello Lifegroup Members!

It was fantastic to see so many of you back in class again yesterday. We've begun our new study on the life of Jesus. It is a great new book called Christos and is available in the library for $5.00 to everyone. Thanks to Paul for bringing such a great lesson on the fulfillment of prophecies in Jesus' life.

Here are the announcements and prayer requests as mentioned in class. Please read everything and remember to pray for those who have asked for prayer this week.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Ladies Lunch this Tuesday, Jan 20th at 11:30 a.m. at Skeeter’s in Kingwood. RSVP to sabrina.m.stark@sbcgloblal.net.

2. Guy’s Night! This Wednesday at AMF Bowling Lanes in Humble (on the feeder of 59N – next to Ford dealership). Meet at 7 p.m. for bowling. RSVP to Derek at derek.boomer@hatchmott.com.

3. Men's Conference with Steve Farrar is scheduled for Friday & Saturday, January 30 & 31. This free event will prove to be a benchmark for men finding or renewing their relationship with their Heavenly Father and their families. Steve is one of the most sought after speakers to men in America. Men don't miss this event!

4. GNO! Girls Night Out this month is Wed, Jan 28th at Laurie Williams' house. We'll be making valentine cards and sharing yummy snacks. RSVP to Sabrina at sabrina.m.stark@sbcglobal.net.

PRAYER REQUESTS

1.Nicole Brian is receiving the results back today from the tests she had ran on the lumps on her thyroid glands. Please pray that they are not cancerous and easily removed.

2. Middle School Disciple Now for HAFBC is this coming weekend. Pray for our students, the lost friends that they bring and for all of the volunteers and staff.

3. Dustin's stepfather's brother passed away last week from cancer. Now there are issues with his estate that are very stressful on Dustin's parents. Please pray for an easily resolution.

4. Michael Armstrong, our music minister, is commuting 3 hours to work everyday. It is taking a toll on him and he needs our prayers that his home sells so that he can move here quickly.

5. Continue to pray for our pastor search committee and the man God has chosen to be our pastor.

6. Paul Stark begins his MBA classes this week.

7. Chris Pike, former member of our class, needs prayer for his job search.

January 11 Announcements

Fresh Start Sunday had a great turn out as well as lunch afterwards! Glad to see everyone who showed up!

Annoucements:

  • DINNERS FOR THE BIGGERSTAFFS START THIS WEEK!
  • We will be using the book Christos this year in our class. You can buy a copy in for $5 and follow along.
  • Prayer Summit with Daniel Henderson, Saturday, January 17th from 3:30-5:30 in the Student Building
  • Men's Conference with Steve Farar is Friday and Saturday (30 and 31)

Prayer Request
  • Autumn Rushing's Sunday School teacher, Johnny Miley, has cancer
  • Jenna's Uncle Douglas died last Friday. Please keep the family in your prayers
  • Jeremy William's brother, Jake and his wife Ashley, are 80% sure they will have a miscarriage and Ashley just lost her job. Pray for peace for this family.
  • Josh Eldridge is still looking for a job
  • Mark Morrow's great uncle (Bob) has bone marrow cancer and has been discharged from the hospital. The doctors said there was nothing else they could do for him.
  • Praise report: the Childer's baby boy is healthy
  • Please keep the entire family of the Boomers in your prayers as multiple things are going on.
  • Linedell filed bankruptcy so there will be lots of people possibly losing their jobs. Keep them in your prayers
  • Nicole Brian is having a biopsy this week to see if some lumps on her throat are cancerous. Due to the size at least the left lobe of her thyroid will have to be removed. Pray that nothing else will have to be removed.

January 4th Announcements!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1. "Christos" is the name of the annual book for the adult LifeGroups using
Life Bible Study for 2009. The books are available in the lobby for $5. Lessons will begin on Fresh Start Sunday, January 11th.

2. This Thursday, January 8th is GUYS NIGHT and y'all are meeting at Dustin's to watch the National Championship Football Game. OU vs USC. Bring some snacks to share...game food...you know, man food?!? RSVP to Dustin at dchilders@newtecheng.com.

3. THIS FRIDAY, January 9th @ 7 p.m. CLASS SOCIAL!!! Games & Potluck at the church. Childcare is provided, but you had to sign up in class yesterday. Tessa sent out an evite with all the social details. If you did not receive it, please email Tessa at tessagreenfield@yahoo.com.

4. God's Blueprints on Marriage Seminar, Saturday, January 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Student Building. HAFBC's new marriage ministry led by Chris & Lydia Lewis will be hosting this one day event. This is an opportunity to learn more about the new marriage ministry while understanding what God's design is for your marriage. Chris and Lydia Lewis served 7 years as Homebuilder's Directors for the Houston area with FamilyLife Ministries and have led many conferences.

5. Fresh Start Sunday is on January 11th! Bring a breakfast dish to share next week and show up a few minutes early to eat breakfast together before the lesson. Remember to call anyone you have wanted to invite to our church and invite them to attend next week. It is a very special Sunday to kick-off 2009!

6. January 11th is CLASS LUNCH! We're eating at Schlotszky's in Humble (near Academy) after the 10:50 a.m. service. See you all there!

7. Prayer Summit with Daniel Henderson, Saturday, January 17th from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Student Building. You will not want to miss this special time with Daniel Henderson who is President of Strategic Renewal International. He is a preacher, author and conference leader that has spoken to thousand of people across the world. His focus is prayer. You should expect to gain a much deeper appreciation for the gift of prayer and how God listens and responds. Daniel will be preaching the following morning in our worship service.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

1. Laura Pruitt's dad's found out that his heart is only healthy on the "top"; therefore, only half functioning.

2. Josh Eldridge is still looking for a job.

3. Jeremy Williams' brother and sister-in-law believe they are fixing to suffer a miscarriage.

4. The Childers' ultrasound went really well and they are expecting a very healthy baby boy.

5. Corban Rushing is having a rough time transitioning into some new stages.

6. Autumn Rushing's Sunday school teacher, "Mr. Johnny" is awaiting results from tests he had done last week.

7. Ron Wilson, friend of Dustin & Jenna Childers, has gone through 21 rounds of chemo in the last 21 months due to having brain cancer. February is his last month of chemo. Please pray for healing and comfort for his family.

8. Jenna Childers' Uncle, Douglas Melton, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last week and the doctors say there is nothing that can be done for him.

9. Lyondell-Basell (sp) is in the news for potentially filing bankruptcy. Please pray for all of the employees as this affects a lot of people in the Houston area and members of our church.

10. Pray for the new year of 2009 and the three people you wrote on your crimson card during service on Sunday.
