It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

We had our December Girls' Night Out on Wednesday at the Starks' house. What a great time of fellowship with girlfriends, cookie decorating, and hot cocoa! The creativity in the cookie decorating was very impressive. One of the best parts of the night was we all got so excited when we realized how much it had been snowing. The girls tricked poor Paul into coming outside to take a picture and he got pummelled with snowballs. What a good sport!

THIS SUNDAY!!!

A message from Paul Stark:

Happy Thursday to everyone! This Sunday we will study the book of Jonah. Of course most people immediately think about Jonah and the whale, but the heart of the story is actually chapters 3 & 4. I encourage everyone to read the book of Jonah before Sunday...

1) Ladies: Why is Jonah often referred to as the "reluctant prophet"? Why did he not want to go to Ninevah?

2) Guys: What is the "sign of Jonah" (see Matthew 12:40)? This is a tough one because scholars have differing views on this topic, but see what you can find...in fact I need to do some more research on this topic as well.

Oh yeah, don't forget that this Sunday is Daylights Savings Time. Remember to "fall back" one hour. So there are no excuses for being late on Sunday morning :)

Hope to see you on Sunday, Paul

Girls' Night Out Pumpkin Carving

We had our annual Girls' Night Pumpkin Carving on Monday night. We had a great time carving pumpkins and snacking on yummy fall treats! We thought all the pumpkins turned out quite cute! Some of us got very creative with the costumes this year. If you can't tell, Emily is the virgin Mary and Crystal is a gangsta. Nice grill, Crystal!

Down On The Farm

For our October social we all went to Dewberry Farm outside of Katy for some fun times in the "country". Hey, anything with corn in the Houston area is country, right?!? We had a lot of fun. There were a TON of things for kids to do, and they tired out pretty quickly. Some folks took the hayride, picked pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, strolled through the jack-o-lantern trail, rode the human size mouse wheels, and I'm sure many other things. The adults had super fun running through the corn maze and getting lost...yes Dustin, we said LOST! The men would like to beat on their chest and say that they got us all out of the crazy thing, but the women have to argue that we are the ones who talked the men into finally trying a NEW route instead of the one they took like 30 times! Ha! Kidding. It was all in good fun, and we all left laughing.
Here are some pics from the night. Can't wait for our Christmas social!
